Dunfionn Gordon Setters are owned by myself, Rhona Frew, and my husband Johnny.   We have shared our lives with these beautiful, intelligent and loyal companions since 1980.

 

We purchased our foundation bitch Sh Ch Rossend Glentochty of Dunfionn in February 1980 and all our Gordons descend in direct line from her.   Although we only attend a limited number of shows, our Setters have had considerable success in the showring, including twelve UK Show Champions, Top Stud Dog awards, Best in Show awards at Breed Club Championship Shows and Challenge Certificates at Crufts.

 

Rhona has been a Championship Show Judge since 1990 and has judged at the Gordon Setter Association and the British Gordon Setter Club Championship Shows as well has having the honour of judging at Crufts 2014, she has also judged on the Continent and was invited to judge at the Gordon Setter Club of New South Wales, Australia in 2016, unfortunately our daughter Erin required emergency surgery and the trip was cancelled.   A Past President of the Gordon Setter Club of Scotland, Rhona has also served on the Committee of the Gordon Setter Association and the Gordon Setter Breed Council.   She is the proud holder of the Kennel Club Assured Breeder Scheme Member Accolade of Excellence.

  

Our Gordons are family pets and live in our home, therefore excellent temperament is essential.  They live a very normal life, running free in the fields and woods and swimming in the river or occasionally the sea.

A decision was made at the end of 2016 to take a step back from the show world, although there was one last aim - to see Rysa crowned a Show Champion.   She achieved this in 2017, winning 6 x 1st placings, 4 C.C.s, 2 B.O.B.s and 1 Reserve C.C. from 8 Championships Shows.
